As reported in the Eagle-Tribune today, The school board expects to have building plans of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, ready for the permitting process next week. But I heard School Board chairman Baldwin two weeks ago state at a school board meeting that everything was back on track, and construction would be resuming this week.
This blog's question is how the hell could they begin contruction on a pblic commercial building that will house our children, without having these plans completed, let alone having the project permitted for safety??
Doesn't the school board care about th safety of the kids in the building?

We take no small measure of umbrage at such a hostile official act against this BLOG’s patron. Therefore, a timely Editorial comment is both appropriate and necessary.
Discussion of Atkinson’s financial direction, from any viewpoint, is fundamental and encouraged and we will always attempt to limit and correct errors.
However, Righteous indignation towards purported error of such inconsequential nature is not appropriate.
The ENTIRE car deal is problematic. If it was caused by poor judgement, improper exercise of authority, neglect or mistake or even specious reasoning, this will never trump the facts that the entire questionable transaction started and ended within a very small circle of confidants.
We find the entire circumstances surrounding the disposition of the police Cruiser highly irregular at the least and the "explanations" somewhat trifling and exhaustive of our intellect.
Mr. Consentino: It’s time to go. Being Chief of Atkinson’s Police Department is NOT a birthright. That is a fabled legend of yesteryear.
Historically in Atkinson, police chief appointments were made "under the hand of the selectmen" for terms of one year at a time, as was also the case in the beginning of Mr. Consentino’s assorted and discontinuous stream of appointments to this position.
Your only remaining credential established on a claim of indispensability has faded.
So time is neigh. Plan a graceful exit, Clean out your desk, Accept the gratitude and tearful sentiments from some. We plan no editorial recriminations. It is time. Thank you for your service, We wish you a long and happy retirement. Bon Voyage.

"To All Atkinson Residents,
I am writing to ask for your help. A member of the Atkinson Police Department needs our help. I am here to ask for your help in Corporal John Lapham's fight for his life. As you are aware, John has been diagnosed with Leukemia. He has been once again hospitalized with an infection that is threatening his life. He is one of the bravest people that I have ever met. He has never asked of anything from the residents of the town. Now is our chance to step up and help both him and his family out. As everyone is aware John has been out of work for a few months. His family has been busy helping John to get better. He needs our help, and I am hoping that this town can step up to the plate and help. From the moment that I met John, I have admired him. He does alot, but never asks for anything in return. He has helped so many people in this town. I for one am one of those people. Please help him.
There is a fund set-up in his name at TDBanknorth in Plaistow. Any amount will help John, while he is out of work. It would be great if this town could help ease a burden off his wife.

And I still want to hear Jack Sapia explain at a selectmen's meeting how the fire access road that HE PUT A STOP TO, when it was being built by volunteers, now has to be built at a cost of $138,000.

You once again write information in your bias blog that is incorrect. For the record, the children and the publics safety is always my concern and a top priority. If you speak with my fellow school board members and other officials in town positions, you would know I made a point on a few occassions to tell certain school officials to pull all permits neccessary and work along with Atkinson Town Officials to complete the project on time. Again, because of your dislike for me, It is obvious all you care about is to continously bash and attempt to tarnish my Professional reputation. At least I use my real name and do not hide behind a coward, and pretend name. I do not have problem that you do not like me or others may not like me as well, but I have always cared about my fellow citizens and treated everyone fairly regardless how they have treated me. Publius, you know you can approach me on issues. I appreciate your time and I thank the residents that inform me of this blogs incorrect info.

This article was not about like or dislike, I do not know you personally and could care less, about your personality in regards to this issue.
This article was written about two stories that appeared in the Eagle-Tribune. The School Board was asked the questions, and criticized in our article because THEY and ONLY THEY have the responsibility for oversight and control of this project. There fore they as a board, and you as chairman of that board, must take responsibility for this debacle.
This blog has not even been able to find out who the General Contractor is on the Academy project. But the facts are thus;
No Town Permits were pulled.
There apparently was discussion about whether or not they needed to be and a decision was made that in the interests of time it wasn't necessary.
Fire Chief Murphy brought this mistake to the Boards attention 4 months ago, and was told that they didn't have to go through the town.
When the electrical contractor, and the fire chief would not sign off on work done because there were no permits, THE SCHOOL BOARD or one of it's assigns called the State Fire Marshall, in an attempt to do an end run around the fire chief, it backfired!
State fire marshall found 13 violations, and stopped construction until permits were obtained.
Permitting process is now delayed because the Board does not have schematics to present for permitting.
One of the requirements is a fire access road, at a cost of $138,000, because the new construction cuts off fire truck access to the back of the Academy.
This is the very same type of road that was being built by volunteers two years ago, and was halted by Selectman Sapia, and Consentino, They demanded that the school board re-approve what they had already approved three months prior. At that School Board meeting You, Mr. Baldwin, and the two musketeers from our board of selectmen, VETOED that FREE VOLUNTEER PROJECT, and NOW IT IS GOING TO COST $138,000 TO DO HALF OF WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO FOR FREE.
Please not that there has nevr been any personal statements about you, Mr. Baldwin on this blog, But there has been criticism of your job performance in your public duties. When you are a public official you had better be able to take criticism. As Abe Lincoln once said; "you can't please all of the people, all of the time"
