A sample of the posts we have been rejecting. Do you want to see more?

These are samples of the posts that you have read about us refusing to publish. This is not the nastiest, but annoying none the less, because they comes from certain town officials. For your anonymous posts - Thank you, "Mr. Official"!

Incidently the information such as it is contained herein is inaccurate, Oh and to the poster, for someone so intelligent, why would Mr. Acciard be posting anonymously when the very post before this was his by name? This blog can't figure THAT one out.

These are direct quotes from the "Anonymous" poster- we left the names of the people Anonymous is insulting so you can see how bad they are.

Please comment and let us know what you think about this, and if you wish to see more of them.

SAMPLE # 1

The Anonymous poster said:
"Ken Grant said: Some of us work during the day, and obviously some days we don't have as much time as you to check and publish material.

Ken, just what job do you have? Last I heard you were ad psuedo lawyer/BU graduate named seenitdoneit. Please enlighten all of us!

Or was it Mark the Janitor this time...I guess he was out late last night cleaning toilets again, needed to sleep in all day."

To the town official that posted that bilge, wrong again, Ken Grant never posted any of that, but nice try guessing! Also to the best of this blog's knowledge he is not seenitdoneit, either. You are batting 0

Here is another sample:

Sample #2

The Anonymous poster said:
"So Ken, Carol, Jane, and Mark, funny how the moderator got more votes than any other official running unopposed. I guess you are suffering from a major case of depression because no one is listening to your foolishness. And you want to take it out on Polito? Go for it, one more indication of how rediculous your views are. "
Publish Reject

In this post this official is very laudatory of our moderator, could there be a reason, "Mr. Official"?

And Another:

Sample #3

The Anonamus poster said:
"Mark, oh please spare me. "Temerity"...wow...did you take a break from toilet cleaning last night and look up some new words? By the way, what is that pimpmobile you are driving? Is that the car you got in trouble for swapping plates on?
Looks like there is a lot of interest in the blog. One who response here, what do you supposed happened? Time to call Jane, Ken, & Jill to fill out the responses so it looks like someone is reading this.

Well, I'm off to my real job now. I will be back in a few days and I look forward to seeing your creative writing when I return."

Publish Reject

Or this one:

Sample # 4

The Anonymous poster said:
"Marcus and dumb dumb Ken, it is so good to see this blog going down in flames. The number of posts has fallen of dramatically and all that is left are the idiots; both of you, dumb dunb Carol, Donna I'm paranoid Sullivan, and Jill I'm angry Flemming (did I forget anyone?). It has gotten so bad that you removed the post from someone who said yestreday that you are all whiners...so you have sunk pretty low (not that you weren't low already). It just goes to show you, the people of this twon are smarter than you morons will ever be. Marcus, maybe you can ride to your janitor's job in the back of the wheel chair van that was overwhelmingly passed Tuesday. Bye for now...say hi to your fellow loosers! (like Doug the "non-tax payer" Dowd)"
Publish Reject

These are the taunts of petulant child, a little boy being deprived of getting his way. We have received a lot of comments requesting to see the posts that were rejected. Out of 823 posts submitted to this site since its inception, 21 have been rejected, these are the LEAST offensive of those. Some of the others were outright LIBEL, accusing certain town resident of committing crimes, and other misbehaviors.

Let us know what you think please.

I can live without them, thank you very much! It's just trailer trash talk.

Aw, Frank I'm assuming from the posts, don't be jealous of my car, I love that car, when you grow up you, too, can get one.

This post is from an ordinary taxpaying citizen, who checks in daily what is going on in this town. Like a lot of citizens, we read the post to see what is really going on, both in front of the cameras and behind closed doors.
It is good to know that there are still GOOD, HONEST, HARDWORKING PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD WHO DO AN HONEST DAYS WORK FOR AN HONEST DAYS PAY, AND THAT THEY TAKE PRIDE IN THEIR JOB. It's a shame that there are still people in today's society who think that their high-paying corporate jobs are more meaningful and important than someone else's. Shame on you! I guess you are the same people who look down you nose at the cashier who is checking you out at Market Basket, or at the counter person serving you your morning coffee. I pity the wait-person serving you and your family at Longhorn, how badly you must treat them for doing such a meaningless [in you eyes] job. The hardworking fellows of Waste Management [whom I give a gift to every holiday season, in appreciation for the service they provide me in any weather. Imagine working in 90 degree weather with 70% humidity, yup I make sure I give all the guys an ice cold bottle of water on those days] must be nothing more than people you would go out of your way to avoid making eye contact with. Let me ask you, is this the way you are bringing your children up, to look down at people who work hard to provide a service you use everyday but think are worthless? You are the people that give outsiders the impression that Atkinson is a snob town.
To the people responsible for the Atkinson Blog - keep up the good work and hold your heads up high, you truly honest and truthful people, the kind that gives us hope for the future. As for the rest of you, watch your glass houses.

I, for one, am very appreciative of the blog owners for mainling me, even though it was anonymously, these posts when they were made, along with a nice note that I should be aware of what was being said about me.

For the record, I have no problem with you publishing those posts, st that the rest of the town may see what petty, vindictive, children we have running this town. I have nothing to fear because my government can do no worse to me than it has already done. I am appalled that the town I grew up in has degenerated to this.

I thought I was the only one who handed the trash men some dough the week before x-mass!!! I usually thank any fireman or cop now and then. I know they appreciate a pat on the back. I also respect any hard working person.
As far as our politics, they are more or less the same in many community's. You have to take all posts with a grain of salt and not let it get you-us down. Remember in time cream always rises to the top.

Anonymous said...

sorry, but it appears that the scumm and good old boys have risen for a while now, it is high time they get their comeuppance

Anonymous said...

Wow, this is a revelation, I thought I was the only person left who tipped the trash guys.

This is disgusting. That any town officials wold write about any resident like is is way over the top. we should throw the bums out.

Anonymous said...

if these are the mild ones what is in the bad ones? This behavior has to stop.

Why not publish all comments?

Because some of the posts rejected made clearly libelous comments against town residents, their parents, and children, and we felt that type of infantile rant did not deserve a place in the realm of public debate.

It is astonishing enough that certain town officials can post these things anonymously while whining in public meetings about how they are talked about by others.

We wanted this to be a place where residents could discuss town events, policies, positions, and politics without fear of reprisals. We did not want this to degenerate into a cesspool of ad hominum personal attacks. Slanderous statements about Mr. Acciard's business, Mr. Grant's pursuits as a retired person, Mr. Boyle's son, Mr. Lewis' business, Mr. Stewart's mother, and more have no place here. and to be honest, should not have a place in selectmen's meetings, although they have over the past 3 years.

GETTING NERVOUS BOYS????

I like this blog for one big reason. It is starting to work. When you see the Chief and company trying to counter-act the effects of it, then you KNOW it is starting to make them nervous.

First: communication occurs. Second: knowledge is shared and ACCURATE information becomes available.
Third: organization begins.
Fourth: plans and actions are taken to overthrow the zealots.
Fifth: change occurs.

Since we into phase 3-4, we should be at step 5 by the next election day.

I am looking forward to it. Hopefully, the veterans will be respected, the cell tower will be stopped and we'll still have some water left to drink by then.

So where/when is the next meeting?

How sad... how very, very sad. People push illegal immigration as a necessity, because the illegals claim they will do the jobs that Americans "won't" do. In this blog, those jobs are referred to as a way to dimish and degrade people. Anyone who works and pays their taxes (and God knows we are taxed heavily in Atkinson!) should be commended not insulted, regardless of what job they perform. What is going on here is school-yard name calling and it is pathetic. If these posts are from our elected/appointed officials it is a disgrace and I sincerely hope that, come the next election, there are new names and faces to choose from. We can only affect change by electing it into office.

I have watched this drama, as far as I can see Mrs. Grant has become fed up with the boards disrespect towards her and others, as well as their failure to do what the voters tell them. Mr. Acciard asked the code of ethics committee to make the chief leave the board on police matters, that is''t unreasonable, but he has been put through the wringer by these people for it. I don't know what Teddy did to piss them off, but he has been verbally bashed every monday night for the last three years.

To these people I say thank you.

To the selectmen/Kings who treat their critics with such disrespect, don't get too comfortable in those seats, those you treat shabbily will not react kindly come election time.

Publis -

Thank you for answering my question regarding why not publish all comments, quickly and succinctly as well as continuing on with this much needed blog. Certain people have kept this town captive far too long and I for one couldn't be happier to see their lawless, tyrannical rule further exposed.

Curious,
You are quite welcome

The tone, and word usage reminds me of a certain town official, but I cant believe HE would say those things. He is so intelligent, and reasonable, Although he does make snide remarks when he visits the selectmen, and during the vote counting, so it is possible.

On an entirely different matter - I found an article online from the 3/14/07 Eagle Tribune regarding the most recent election and Linda Jette's comment that the number of absentee votes was phenomenal. I'm curious as to what the number of absentee ballots has been in the past and why this year was so phenomenal? For some reason this stuck with me; does it or should it raise suspicion?

Want to have a REAL eye opener? Google Chief Consentino, or Phil Consentino, and see all the stories you find.

There will be the ethics violations brought by Acciard, the vietnam honor roll debacle, the probably illegal SUV purchase, the bullying of his own officers, the "union busting" articles, the "investigation" of Dale Childs for filing a complaint with Police standards and training, the infamous " turn them back at the border" halloween comment, and many many more.

"Toilet cleaner." Nice words coming from a potty mouth. Ha!
The "official" making those comments was probably shouting "you're damn right" when Hillary said in the 1990's that there needs to be a federal gate keeper filtering what information is allowed to be posted on the web. At the time she said that, the internet was the only way to get the truth about the crimes of the Clinton's to the public.
The juvenile response to revealing inconvenient truths on this blog have cause a typical response. "Kill The Messenger." Don't bother debating the message. Generally their is nothing to debate anyway. It is hard to justify bad behavior when one is caught.
As for Mark, he is an honorable small business owner who provides a service people are willing to pay for.
The only big mistake I know he made was selling that '68 Mustang fastback he had in high school. I have known Mark since he moved to town in second grade. I could tell some humorous stories of childhood curiosity, (hangers should never be put into power plugs) but I leave it be for now.

Most of the hits from Google come back relating to the death of Brad Delp, he was quoted in many of the articles. Because Brad's passing was so widely covered, they mostly relate to that matter but I did find a handful of the ones you referenced.

There were far more before the new company took over the E-T and dumped their online archives.

ATKINSON's Vietnam HONOR ROLL as VOTED and PASSED by 2005 Town Meeting and re-approved at Special Town Meeting Sept. 12

EDITORIAL-

A voice of compassion, an example of fairness and reasonable government.

One who believes in the strength and comfort you, your children and your family can draw from good government leadership.

A person who knows Atkinson is our home -- our most important possession that must be preserved and protected through fair taxes and sound community planning and where our children must be safe to grow to become a new generation of leaders.

One who knows that the citizens of Atkinson are all neighbors with her leadership to be dedicated and responsive to all.

One who believes that when those from Atkinson have served our nation and honors are deserved, those honors must be given.

In Valerie Tobin, we now have a leader we know we can entrust with these responsibilities because they are part of her character.

It is our honor to endorse Valerie for election to Atkinson’s Board of Selectmen.

Just a note for those who wish to count the deer.

In January 08 this blog had 16,000 hits and 1,500 unique visitors (for the month).

In 2007 this blog had over 100,000 hits and 5,750 unique visitors (for the year).

EDITORIAL-

"I offer nothing more than simple facts, plain arguments, and common sense . . ." [TP, 1776]

We take no small measure of umbrage at such a hostile official act against this BLOG’s patron. Therefore, a timely Editorial comment is both appropriate and necessary.

Discussion of Atkinson’s financial direction, from any viewpoint, is fundamental and encouraged and we will always attempt to limit and correct errors.

However, Righteous indignation towards purported error of such inconsequential nature is not appropriate.

The ENTIRE car deal is problematic. If it was caused by poor judgement, improper exercise of authority, neglect or mistake or even specious reasoning, this will never trump the facts that the entire questionable transaction started and ended within a very small circle of confidants.

We find the entire circumstances surrounding the disposition of the police Cruiser highly irregular at the least and the "explanations" somewhat trifling and exhaustive of our intellect.

Mr. Consentino: It’s time to go. Being Chief of Atkinson’s Police Department is NOT a birthright. That is a fabled legend of yesteryear.

Historically in Atkinson, police chief appointments were made "under the hand of the selectmen" for terms of one year at a time, as was also the case in the beginning of Mr. Consentino’s assorted and discontinuous stream of appointments to this position.

Your only remaining credential established on a claim of indispensability has faded.

So time is neigh. Plan a graceful exit, Clean out your desk, Accept the gratitude and tearful sentiments from some. We plan no editorial recriminations. It is time. Thank you for your service, We wish you a long and happy retirement. Bon Voyage.

LETTER

"To All Atkinson Residents,

I am writing to ask for your help. A member of the Atkinson Police Department needs our help. I am here to ask for your help in Corporal John Lapham's fight for his life. As you are aware, John has been diagnosed with Leukemia. He has been once again hospitalized with an infection that is threatening his life. He is one of the bravest people that I have ever met. He has never asked of anything from the residents of the town. Now is our chance to step up and help both him and his family out. As everyone is aware John has been out of work for a few months. His family has been busy helping John to get better. He needs our help, and I am hoping that this town can step up to the plate and help. From the moment that I met John, I have admired him. He does alot, but never asks for anything in return. He has helped so many people in this town. I for one am one of those people. Please help him.

There is a fund set-up in his name at TDBanknorth in Plaistow. Any amount will help John, while he is out of work. It would be great if this town could help ease a burden off his wife.

Thank You

Also if anyone would like to send a card, please address it to:

John Lapham

Please show Corporal John Lapham, that this community can stand up and show our support to those in need. I for one, miss John and can not wait until he can get better and return to work. Please show him that we support him. "
