An Officer lost his Gun!!!
My home just received a recorded phone call from the superintendent of schools, in co-operation with the Atkinson police dept. This call notified all Atkinson parents that, while helping push someone out of the snow, an Atkinson police officer lost his gun. The call urged Atkinson parent to speak to their children about gun safety, and if the weapon is found please return it to the police dept.
Publius, Please warn all residents about the fact that somewhere in a snowbank in town is a loaded 9mm handgun. This is serious enough that everyone should be aware of it, and advise their children accordingly.
Once the weapon is found, then questions can be asked about the weapon safety practices of our officers, but in the mean time, the prioroty is to find the weapon before anything happens.
