We still reqire answers about the Atkinson Police Dept. Ford Crown Victoria Cruiser.
We sold, traded or otherwise disposed of the Ford Crown Victoria for $300.
The dealer is located 80 miles from Atkinson.
We know the book value of the Ford Crown Victoria Cruiser is MUCH, NUCH more than $300.
We have seen the Ford Crown Victoria Cruiser about town after it was disposed of.
We have asked for an accounting of the Ford Crown Victoeia Cruiser transactions and never received any answers.
We deserve answers.
We ask again;
" Explain the transactions for the Ford Crown Victoria where:
1. it only brought $300 to the town.
2. It has reappeared in town in private use."
We will ask "til the cows come home" so the Selectmen should answer.
Who owns the car now? The BOS should be held accountable for this and a full disclosure to the tax payers!
ReplyDeletesapia, childs and sullivan it's time for you to respond. it's obvious you this check blog frequently so you know there are questions waiting to be answered, now is the time to do that. are you all waiting for it to go away? it won't, so deal with it now or YOU, along with our useless chief of police, will be costing the taxpayers more money with yet another senseless lawsuit due to your incompetence.
ReplyDeleteThe Budget Comm. is back in season. This question is part of the budget issues. Mr. Acciard, please get the "$300 Cruiser" issue on the budget meeting table and demand answers. We should NEVER approve another car expenditure without complete answers to these VERY PROPER QUESTIONS.
ReplyDeleteIf I were on the budget Committee we would certainly ask some of these questions, at least trace the money, But I no longer serve on this august committee, you should contact Chairman Jim Blackadar, or Vice Chair Fred Thompson with these concerns, and perhaps they can sk your questions for you. Or you could attend a meeting yourself and ask the questions from the audience.
ReplyDeleteIt appears, at the very least, that the town conflict of interest ordinance was violated with this car transaction, but possible the town laost money in the transaction, and therefore the selectmen, as much as Jack crows about their fiduciary responsibility, should look into this.
ReplyDeleteanon 7:21 Regardless of what Jack says, he is just as afraid of Consentino as Childs is. I don't know what he has on these men but it must be good. That is another reason why, as others have stated, it's time to force him to retire. Then people won't have to fear seeing blue lights in their rearview mirror or a cruiser parked in front of their house. From what I have been reading about things that are done to people, it sounds like Atkinson is a through back to the Soviet Union.

I want a full accounting of not just the title of this vehicle, but ALL the police dept vehicles, how they are used, by whom, when, mileage, fuel, maintenance, etc.
This sounds like a fraudulent transaction to me.
The selectmen will not comment on this, they are hoping it will go away. Just as they were hoping for the last two years the vietnam vets would go away.

Last week it was said the maintenance budget was OVER-RUN and one of the reasons was New Tires are needed on a Cruiser ( like- Ford Crown Victoria Cruiser) and the tires will cost more than twice what the WHOLE CAR sold for. The tires look pretty good on that $300 Ford Crown Victoria Cruiser !??!

ReplyDeleteI guess my comment would be; I heard the Chief say that his cruiser maintenance line would be over expended by a couple of thousand, how is it possible to spend $10,870 in 8 months, when out of the 11 vehicle you own, 2(the wheelchair van and the Mercury) you did not get until 3 months ago, necesitating no maintenance.
ReplyDeleteOut of the remaining 9 vehicles, 2 of them were bought brand new in march of 2007, 3 of them were bought brand new in march 2005, with 7 out of a fleet of 11, new or under two years old, how does so much get spent so quickly?
To anon 2:02, thank you Lt. for that information. Could you please do what WE pay you to do, and not sit and read this blog. BTW are you trying to tell us that that is not a retired Atkinson car? Maybe the next time someone sees it they can check the vin #, that could solve this problem once and for all.
