FUZZY MATH #2

The world awaits answers!
Full explanation of the transactions is still required and the question will not go away.

Is it coincidence that it was only after this blog started a conversation about the possible illegal, and certainly shady characteristics of this transaction, that the car disappeared from the Apartment building on Main st. across from Robie ln.?

Is it coincidence that our selectmen have been made aware of this situation, and yet REFUSE TO INVESTIGATE this transaction?

Does anyone find it strange that everyone is strangely silent, hoping against hope that this will fade quietly away?

THIS WILL NOT DIE UNTIL THE PUBLIC GETS SOME ANSWERS!

  1. We want to know why the car was sold for only $300, when the book value is $2,700?

We want to know how the chiefs son came to buy it, especially so soon after it was sold?

We want to know how much he paid for it, and how he knew it was on a lot in Laconia?

We want to know if he sold it and for how much? So that we can assess exactly how much the taxpayers got screwed out of.

And we ant to know why the Budget Committee isn't asking these questions? This is surely as improper as the SUV purchase.

  2. Isn't the ownership information showing title transfers at the NH Department of MV?

All you need is the VIN which is in the town records and is PUBLIC information.

  3. Problem is once you ask for that info from Russ, the chief and Sapia both know that you are looking into it, and you become a target.

You will get talked about at selectmens meetings

You will have a "vendetta" against the chief

You may be followed through town by the police

in other words you will be branded as a troublemaker, and if you find out the info you are trying to find, and you bring it to the selectmen's attention, like so many other issues, they will ignore it, forcing you to take it to court, if you want to see the law followed.

That process will cost you tens of thousands of your own money, while your taxes pay for corrupt public officials legal expenses, it will take at least 1 year out of your life, and for what?

You will win, they will already be out of office by that point, and you will be branded as a pariah in your own town.

  4. I heard about this organization called the Coalition of NH Taxpayers (CNHT). They are a local advocacy group for taxpayers who are not getting what they should from their elected officials.

They have a web site at:

    http://www.cnht.org/index.php

The head of this organization is a fellow named Ed Naile. Ed has been working with the group in town that is having problems with their abatements.

Ed spoke at a recent meeting of taxpayers and described a number of situations where he overcame scenarios exactly like Atkinson. He seems to know the laws and process using Right To Know (RSA 91-A) to get the information and then if necessary, taking legal action. He says he has been doing this for 18 years and is willing to help.

Ed can be reached at 603-464-5113 or email his organization at:
webmaster@cnht.org. Ed has spoken on behalf of taxpayers in other towns and is unafraid of the circumstances we face in town here.

So if you want outside help, contact the CNHT. Maybe this is the answer. The more people that contact them, the better.

  5. I agree the selectmen should be looking into this, which tells me that they must have something to hide.

Why is this board so corrupt?

And why do we let this behavior continue?

  6. Here's the problem;

If something like this is brought to the attention of the selectmen, they are duty-bound to al least check it out and inform the person, or the public what they found, but they don't.

And that is the problem, they know that the only way you can get around their stone-walling is to take them to court, and they know most people will not go through that aggravation, so they win.

  7. Worth the click:

I just clicked on the Plaistow Town Crier link posted at the top of the page. That cartoon is too accurate! But I did get a good laugh.
